Hey Heathershenhouse Victoria called me in tears because she just didn't feel motivated to do her business. She loved creating her products but hated all that came with selling them. She called me for motivation. "Guess what?" I replied.... "motivation is crap!" I could hear her confusion through the phone. lol. It wasn't the answer she expected. I went on to explain that she didn't need motivation, she needed daily discipline. She had been letting the "boring" end of her business go and focusing only on creating her amazing products. If you want to be a success in business, you have to treat your business, like a business, and that takes discipline, not motivation. Personally, I don't feel motivated each day to get up and call prospective clients, put together proposals, or do my marketing ads. I do all this because I've disciplined myself and I know it will create the opportunity to do what I actually love which is working one on one with clients! I don't always feel like cooking dinner or driving the kids to school either but of course I do it because I'm disciplined. The next time you are looking for "motivation," instead, pull from old fashioned discipline! Say aloud, "I may not want to do this, but doing it will allow me to do what I love!" Then schedule it! Schedule time in your calendar every single day for the things you need to do to keep your business on track and profitable. (Not sure what those things are? Call me for help!) And I'm going to repeat this line again.... If you want to be a success in business, you have to treat your business, like a business, and that takes discipline, not motivation! Making money in your business is a virtue! It allows you to support your family, live without the stress of struggling to get by, and give back to your community!
